While Nathan and Haley prepare for their move to Spain, Brooke has a hard time dealing with Julian’s reaction to Alex’s crisis. Quinn helps Clay work to get Nathan back as a client; Millicent and Mouth face a crossroads in their relationship as Millicent’s downward spiral continues; and Dan makes an announcement during his television series that shocks his audience, as well as Rachel.
Nathan and Jamie travel with Haley on the last part of her tour, while Brooke and Julian work on their relationship after their 6-week break. Meanwhile, Clay and Quinn try to decide where their relationship is headed, and Alex, now out of rehab, tries to make up for everything she’s done wrong.
Nathan tries to keep Haley from stressing out when her sister Taylor shows up to the house with Quinn’s ex-husband. Julian continues to stick up for Alex while on the set of their movie, and Brooke ends up turning to Alexander for comfort. Meanwhile, Clay tries to prove his commitment to Quinn by going with to dinner with Taylor and David.
In an episode dedicated to John Hughes, Haley’s birthday is forgotten amidst the chaos surrounding an ’80s alumni dance at Tree Hill High, and Jamie ends up being left home alone. Meanwhile, Nathan and Clay find themselves stranded 200 miles away from Tree Hill; and Brooke goes to the dance with Alexander, which makes Julian relive his adolescence.
Brooke and Julian try to find a balance between their relationship and their work lives as production on the movie begins. Meanwhile, Nathan and Haley have a surprise visitor; Quinn leans on Clay when she receives some unexpected news; Alex sets her sights on Alexander; and Millicent battles her temptation to use.
While Brooke attempts do deal with Alex’s affair with Julian, Lydia’s condition continues to worsen, causing Quinn and Haley to try to reconnect with Taylor. Meanwhile, Clay deals with Katie’s advances, and Nathan helps Jamie to come to terms with Lydia’s fate.
On the eve of Quinn’s big gallery opening, an uninvited guest ambushes Clay . Nathan spends the day with Jamie , while Haley struggles with life after her mother’s passing. Brooke and Julian each receive a shocking surprise. Meanwhile, Skills learns the truth about Lauren and Mouth.

Janis continues to thwart her fellow FBI agents as an inside mole to a mysterious employer; Olivia is given some disturbing news by Gabriel, who has been subjected to numerous flashforwards; and Aaron’s life is in danger in Afghanistan when he tries to blend in with the locals as he continues his search for his daughter.
The clock is ticking on Demetri’s life as Mark and his team go in search of his whereabouts; terror suspect Alda Herzog promises to give Zoey intel on where Demetri is – but at a price; and Olivia learns the identity of the person who sent her the text message informing her that Mark was drinking in his flashforward.
Demetri decides to put a rush on his wedding plans with Zoey when the captured FBI mole confirms the date of his prophesized murder. Wedeck tries to help Aaron infiltrate Jericho in order to rescue Tracy, and Olivia’s friendship with Lloyd grows stronger.
